Automotive FAQ

Motorcycles (with or without side cars), electric scooters and mopeds are covered under Plus® and Premier® Memberships only, as they must be serviced by a flatbed truck. Please note that mobility scooters are not covered. Trailers, including motorcycle cargo trailers, are covered only by RV Membership.

Service will be provided when possible. If a roadside repair cannot be completed, CAA will arrange to transport the Member and their motorcycle, subject to your towing limits based on your CAA Membership type.

Bike Assist is available anywhere CAANEO provides roadside assistance. Service will not be provided to inaccessible areas, such as parks, trails, private and unmaintained roads.

As with any vehicle, requests for motorcycle service will be answered within the standard service times. Longer wait times may be experienced if specialized equipment to service the call is required.

Motorcycle service is not provided between December 1st and March 15th, or if there is snow on the ground or the temperature is below 0 degrees C.

Refunds will only be applied if CAA is contacted first and any refund will be based on CAA prevailing rates. Please see our reimbursement page for more details.

Reimbursement will vary, depending on the circumstances and will be considered for service within Canada. You may apply for a reimbursement by filling out our form.
